CAMP DESCRIPTION / DESCRIPCIÓN DEL CAMPAMENTO:

Join other pre-teens and teens in learning the tradition of Son Jarocho, including jarana (small guitar), zapateado (dance), singing, and community-building. Camp will include music, dance, singing, songwriting, art and photography, as well as opportunities to tie the culture of Son Jarocho to the land through experiences in nature. Camp includes a daily, cooked lunch.

Únase a otros preadolescentes y adolescentes para aprender la tradición del Son Jarocho, incluida la jarana (guitarra pequeña), el zapateado (baile), el canto y la comunidad. El campamento incluirá música, canto, baile, composición de canciones, arte y fotografía, así como oportunidades para vincular la cultura del son jarocho a la tierra a través de experiencias en la naturaleza. El campamiento incluye almuerzo de comida cocinada todos los dias.

CLASS SCHEDULE / HORARIO DE TALLERES: Mondays, 7:45-9:00pm / Los lunes, 7:45-9:00pm

Class will focus on the proper technique of the tumbadoras or congas. With fun, effective exercises, students will be able to develop the fundamental sounds for this instrument.
